Each residence hall is equipped with at least one microwave and refrigerator for student use. Appliances, cooking or otherwise, with enclosed heat sources are permitted in residence hall lounges and rooms. Examples include a kettle and rice cooker. Appliances that are not to be used in residence halls include but are not limited to hot plates, grills, toasters, toaster ovens, electric frying pans, deep fryers, coffee makers, and space heaters/air conditioners. All appliances and electrical equipment used in residence must be approved by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA).
