Campus Address: 280 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB RC3 1A9

Students can access the building from Main Street. The classrooms are located on the second floor using stairs. Classrooms are available from 12:30 pm.

  1. Scent-Free: Do not use scented products.
  2. Personal Hygiene: Shower regularly and use deodorant.
  3. Privacy: Do not take photos in the washroom.
  4. Noise Levels: Keep voices down to respect students in other classes.
  5. Safety:
    1. Do not use stairwells as gathering spaces.
    2. Obey instructions for fire drills and other emergency preparation sessions.
  6. Guests: Inform Front Desk Reception beforehand if you intend to bring a guest into the building.

In cases of severe weather conditions, (snowstorm, heavy snowfall, and windstorms which cause serious damage) all schools will follow the actions taken by the local School Board. Staff and students may check the company website to find out whether or not the Campus will be closed. Listen to local radio stations or check the Providence website to receive information on school closures.

When you see a FIRE on your floor:

  1. Set off the nearest fire alarm.
  2. Call 911 and report the fire.
  3. Use a fire extinguisher to put out small fires.
  4. For larger fires, get out of the area and close all the doors.
  5. If your clothes catch fire, STOP DROP and ROLL.

Fire extinguisher instructions:

  1. Pull the safety pin from the handle.
  2. Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire.
  3. Squeeze the trigger handle.
  4. Sweep from side to side.

When you hear a fire alarm on your floor:

  • Guide students out of the nearest exit, quickly and calmly.
  • If you see the fire, back away from it.
  • Close as many doors as possible between you and the fire.
  • Wave from the window – only break the glass if you really have to.
  • If trapped in a room, place cloth material under the door to stop smoke.
  • If you are caught in smoke, get on your hands and knees and crawl. Hold your breath or cover your face with a cloth and breathe slowly.

When you get outside:

  • Go to a designated meeting place.
  • Wait and follow instructions from staff.
  • Give first aid to injured people. Do not move them.

Throughout your time in the program, the Student Services Advisor will regularly plan community building activities for you to connect with your fellow students and learn more about Canada and about Winnipeg. Please watch for communication from the Student Services Advisor regarding those events.
