The Vice President of Student Life oversees the Student Life staff and helps to develop policies and procedures for campus life, but they are also an advocate for students concerning academic and mental health accommodations.
The Executive Assistant for Student Life oversees the management of mature student housing on campus. In addition to this, they are the assistant to the Vice President of Student Life and the rest of the Student Life department.
The Campus Life Director oversees all of residence life while living in residence, themselves. They direct residence programming for students but also serve as a mentor and provides pastoral care. The Campus Life Director is trained in suicide intervention and conflict resolution and works to ensure that residence is a safe and supportive place for all students.
The Campus Life Director – Student Leadership oversees residence life programming together with the Campus Life Director – Administration. They are also staff liaison for the University College Student Council and provide oversight to the Stuco team. Finally, they develop programming that engages the entire campus community – residence students and commuters – in both on and off campus settings.
Beyond orientation, the International Student Services Coordinator provides ongoing assistance and support for students dealing with immigration (consultations, renewal, and/or acquiring documents), medical visits and international health insurance, and for the many cross-cultural issues that arise during the school year.
The Intake Counsellor is a great resource for students that need help processing and managing personal struggles in many areas of life. The Intake Counsellor will meet with students for an initial assessment to determine the kind of supports they need and then pair the student with one of our capable student counsellors that is part of the M.A. Counselling program in the Providence Seminary for continued free counselling sessions.
The Faculty-in-Residence program at Providence exists to foster and shape the social, cultural, educational, and spiritual life within Providence’s residential community. As such, the Faculty-in-Residence is a faculty member who lives in a designated on-campus residential community and works with residence staff to create diverse residential environments that support learning and faith development through the development of a relationally driven community. The Faculty-in-Residence also acts as a bridge toward enhancing engagement between students and faculty.
The UC Academic Advisors help students select classes, change majors, and learn degree requirements throughout their first year at Providence. They also offer assistance with career resourcing, accessibility and accommodations, time management, and academic skill building to all students on the Otterburne campus.
The Seminary Academic Advisor supports seminary students throughout their time at Providence by assessing tools for student success and providing instruction on their use. They are the go-to person for student questions relating to general academics and seminary events. They assist students in connecting with the applicable resources available as needed. The Seminary Academic Advisor also coordinates modular housing/transportation and oversees the Seminary Student Council.
